The Full Story

Musebk

Muse was founded in 2024. After working as an artist for over 15 years in cities around the world, founder Lenore Mizrachi-Cohen was inspired to create an accessible creative space for the South Brooklyn community. Born and raised in Midwood, Lenore often noticed the disconnect between the number of artists who live here versus the lack of local creative space. Investing in artistic pursuits while maintaining balance in the personal sphere is challenging for anyone, but a real barrier is presented when workspace and colleagues are in a different neighborhood or on a radically different schedule. Muse is here to help artists integrate their work and personal life. It can change this metric and encourage artists in our community to concretely pursue their ideas, create connections and enjoy interacting with a space that's tailored to their needs.

Mission

Muse is about encouraging sustainability of the arts in our community. We enable cultural happenings, creative workspace and exposure for artists. We provide a space for artists to effect their ideas, helping them to organize and take advantage of opportunities they wouldn't have access to individually. We're dedicated to helping artists by providing the space and encouragement to make their ideas happen.

Vision

In the long term, we'd love to see a full fledged artistic hub in the heart of our community. Wouldn't it be great if artists had a place where they could build relationships, mentor an advise each other, show their work and provide artistic programming in our neighborhood? The possibilities are endless, the work is vast... we're starting small with some big ideas. Join us and be a part of this next evolution of the arts in South Brooklyn.
